SCM Olimpic K201 edgebander
The most compact edge bander within SCM's range.
The K 201 Series of Edgebanders have been completely redesigned. Compact entry level machines designed for quick and simple changeovers all at an affordable price. Available in 5 configurations with features such as Graphic Controllers, Double Blade End Trim Unit, Tiltable Top and Bottom Trimmers and Pneumatic Positioning of the Work Units.
It reduces the working time allowing the total automatization of the edge banding operations (gluing, end cutting and edge trimming).
Production with high versatility thanks to the gluing with hot-melt glue which allows the use of all types of edges in different colours and shades .
User friendly and precise for the machining of edges up to 3 mm thick
Features:
- base structure made of high rigidity ribbed steel to guarantee an excellent

PANEL MOVEMENT SYSTEM:
- feed track made of pads coated with high friction rubber fixed on an
industrial chain
- The track runs on two cylindrical guideways (in ground and hardened
steel), one round and one flat, to ensure straightness of movement and
resistance to side loads
- top thick steel presser with rubber coated wheels
- manual adjustment of top presser with automatic positioning of the
operating groups according to the selected panel thickness
- mechanical digital indicator of the selected panel thickness
The machine is complete with:
- centralized dust extraction
- panels support roller which can be extended on the entire length of the
machine
- safety enclosure
- electrical cabinet with padlockable main switch and overload protection
- emergency pushbuttons
OPERATING UNITS
RM-K INFEED PANEL EDGE TRIMMING UNIT
(only for compositions which have the "T" identification letter) positioned before the gluing unit to trim the panel edge and therefore obtain a perfect uniform surface. It is equipped with a high speed motor which drives 2 tool-holders spindles . Motor operation is timed to prevent chipping on the panel. The unit is complete with the "SOFT-START" electronic system which ensure an optimal, fast and efficient motor start in any working condition.
The trimming operation takes place when a part of the infeed fence is removed. The removal is carried out by means of a fast exclusion system. Accurate and precise panel trimming thanks to copying pads system, maintaining unchanged the panel geometry.
The unit is complete with a pair of brazewelded cutters. As those cutters are not ment for an intensive use, it is advisable to equip the unit with diamond cutters.
GLUE POT UNIT, EDGE LOADING AND PRESSING SYSTEM:
hot melt glue with quick heat-up system and internally teflon-coated to
allow an easy glue replacement
- glue application on the panel by means of glue spreading roller
- digital thermostat to control the temperature of the applied glue
- device for the automatic recovery of unused glue
- automatic edge loading system for rolled edges with shear device for
edges with maximum thickness of 1,2 mm and edge saving device
to reduce the edge material waste (K201HF A and K210 A Plus
versions)

- two edge pressure rollers:
The first roller is powered and with clutch unit.
Both are equipped with mechanical pressure adjustment.

- automatic lowering of the glue pot temperature after a temporary
non-use of the machine
"PLUS" END CUTTING UNIT with a high frequency motor and two pairs of blades for the cutting of the front and rear exceeding edge.
Two working positions, for the straight or tilted edge cutting
It can process also post/soft formed panels.
It is equipped with two copying devices for an accurate positioning of blades with reference to the cutting point.
Blades included
"PLUS" TILTABLE TRIMMING UNIT
Manually tilting between 0 and 10°.
It is equipped with two independent high frequency motors mounted on a support and strongly fixed to the unit base frame to carry out the trimming of the top and bottom exceeding edge.
Vertical and horizontal sliding of motors on hardened and grounded bars with recirculation ball bushings.
Each motor is equipped with vertical rotating copying devices and frontal copying pads with ground and chromed "half-moon" contact surface, for an accurate positioning of tools with reference to the trimming.
Two working positions with manual adjustment and revolver with 4 stops.
The unit is complete with straight brazewelded or radial cutters depending on the chosen composition.
EDGE SCRAPING UNIT
for the finishing of 3 mm PVC/ABS edges.
It assures an excellent vibrations free finish thanks to its high
rigidity structure.
High working precision thanks to the front and vertical copying pads (with chromium plated surfaces), which assure an accurate positioning of the knives in relation to the cutting point. The unit is complete with 2 mechanical digital readouts and 2 nonius to make easier the adjustment of the front copying pads and cutters.
