SCM Compact PN Four Sided Planer
The completely reengineered Compact PN is ideal for small to mid-sized companies. It combines precise planing and moulding of architectural mouldings, cabinet components and furniture parts in one pass. Minimum set up time is provided with the unique "Quick Set" setting system.
The four side planer is the most cost effective and safest way for furniture and joinery workshops to produce straight planed and profiled timber, in one pass giving a great time saving. This machine will plane on 4 sides up to 230mm wide and 120 mm thick. A very cost effective machine in the modern production workshop where speed and safety are important. Supplied as standard with four cutterheads.

Machine bed
The machine bed is of thick steel with strongly ribbed structure and tubular supporting base.
Worktables
The tubular steel in feed worktable has a parallelogram system for vertical adjustment and is fitted with a hardened insert placed before planer spindle.
Worktables are of hardwearing special cast iron with a low coefficient of friction and are
equipped with removable inserts in front of the vertical spindles.
Fences
The right in feed fence has a parallelogram system for width wise adjustment through reference engraver (tool not included).
Right fences with easily adjustable sectors for correct positioning according to used tools.
Spindles
The spindles have a hardened surface to avoid wear. The 100 mm diameter steel spindle cylinder ensures the maximum stiffness and precision even during heavy duty machining.
Feed system
The beam which supports the feed system, is of a tubular ribbed structure and has manual vertical movement (can be powered on request).
Feed rollers are driven through universal joints. Spindles and feed rollers are made of steel with hardened surfaces.
Working units positioning
Adjustment of spindle units are controlled from the machine front with mechanical digital readout of spindle position.
Work piece size is displayed on mechanical decimal readouts placed on machine front.
Ergonomics
All controls are placed on the front of the machine at a suitable height for easy use.
The integral protective enclosure ensures low emission of noise and dust guaranteeing a full view of the machine at the same time.
